Family History Events

There are a wide number of other genealogical/family history events that are organised around the country by various organisations.   The Metcalfe Society are proud members of both the Family History Federation(FHF) and the Guild of One Name Studies, and represented on the FHF REgional Groups in Yorkshire and the North-West(GOONS).  

Family History Federation

The   FHF   will be represented at a   number of fairs   around the country   to raise the profile of the Federation and to promote the study of Family History on behalf of member societies. Why not make a note in your diary and go along and say hello.   The website also hosts the contact details of local Family History Societies - so do check out what is available in your area.

An online calendar of GENealogical EVents and Activities (GENEVA) is coordinated on behalf of GENUKI and the FHF. Checkout the many   Family History fairs and events   happening around the country over the coming weeks and months.  

Guild of One Name Studies

The   GOONS   organises a  number of seminars and conferences  every year as part of its remit to advance the education of the public in both one-name studies specifically and in the wider subject of genealogy generally. Both Guild members and non-members are welcome to attend.  

Society of Genealogists

If London is accessible to you,   The   SOG   promotes information on an   extensive programme   of courses, lectures, walks, visits and special events held at the National Family History Centre in London (except walks/visits). SOG members receive a 20% discount by logging in.
